8 Songs About Motorcycles That Truly Capture The Essence Of Riding

For most of us riders, riding our motorcycle down some scenic landscapes is a food for the soul. There’s nothing as enriching, as relaxing, as fulling, as amazing, as the feeling of riding one’s motorcycle! It’s a feeling that can’t be described in words and has to be felt to be understood!

Some of our biker brothers from the past and in the present have been great musical legends of their time, and tried to express this feeling in songs. And I’ll have to say, many of them did as good a job as possible. Here’s our list of 7 amazing songs about Harley-Davidsons and motorcycles that’ll make you just head to the garage and go on a long ride!

1. Wanted Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi, in this cult song, describes himself as a “cowboy on a steel horse”. The rock track from the 80s tries to capture the spirit of an outlaw biker and does it all so brilliantly!

2. Unknown Legend by Neil Young

The singer who released “Motorcycle Mama” back in the 70s is no stranger to us bikers. In this song by the legend, he categorically talks about Harley-Davidsons! The folk-rock track from 1992 is an absolute classic!

3. Motorcycle Man by Saxon

Another amazing track from the good ol’ 80s! The British Heavy Metal band in this track capture the fearless spirit of being a biker, of being a “motorcycle man”!

4. Jesus Rode A Harley by Ugly Kid Joe

The song by the band which was largely popular in the 90s has the Lord telling stories about the biblical figures at a bar! And guess what Jesus did? He rode a Harley-Davidson! What else would our savior even want to ride..

5. Midnight Rider by The Allman Brothers Band

This 70s track too, like several others on the list, is about the life of an outlaw biker. The band sings about a biker’s life on the road, and how he knows “they” are never going to catch him, for he is the midnight rider!

6. Born To Be Wild by Steppenwolf

The oldest track on the list. But as they say, “Old is Gold!” It’s hard for me to describe what this song does, but all I can tell you is, what it does is really special! Given how extremely popular the song is, I probably don’t even need to tell you that! You’ve already heard it. How about you play it one more time, below?!

7. House of Blue Light by Billy Joel

The track is another on the list that captures the beautiful feeling of riding in the night. Riding a Harley-Davidson, in the night. Joel sings about the life of a man in the shackles of proletarian world, and how riding his Harley in the night is one of his redemptions!

8. Freewheel Burning by Judas Priest

Yet another gem from the 80s! This one too is about the misadventures of an outlaw biker who heads out to the highway not to ride slow, but to “pedal to the heavy metal”.
